Formerly Professor at the universities of Minnesota (Minneapolis), Laval (Québec), Hawaii (Honolulu, Manoa), Poitiers and Strasbourg (France), and Padua and Udine (Italie).

Founding member and past president of the European Down’s Syndrome Association (EDSA); President of the Scientific Council of the European Down’s Syndrome Association; Supervisor of Aide and Early Intervention Ward at the Association for Parents of Children with Down’s Syndrome (APEM, Verviers, Belgium); Member of the Administrative Council and the Scientific Council of the Baccichetti Foundation for Down’s Syndrome (Padua, Italy).

Member of the Scientific Committee and the Board of Editors for numerous international journals dealing with psycholinguistics and patholinguistics, human development, neuropsychology, et mental handicaps.

Author of around 350 publications in specialized international journals and revues and of 45 books and monographs (some of which have been translated into several languages) writing on developmental psychology, psycholinguistics and developmental patholinguistics.
